Natco Brown chick peas, also known as kala chana or bengal gram, are a nutty variety of chickpea popular in Indian cuisine. Their skin is a muted brown colour, but the distinctive soft yellow of chickpea still remains underneath when cooked.Â
These chickpeas require soaking overnight before cooking. Once soft, try adding to popular Indian dishes such as a coconut Kadala curry or as the base of a traditional chana masala. Or boil and try blending into a gentle spiced hummus dip.Â
