Terre Exotique’s black salt is rich in activated charcoal, which gives it the distinctive pitch black colour – a show stopping seasoning for white fish and caramel desserts. The salt is a blend of two pure ingredients – activated charcoal and pure seawater. The salt has an oceanic, mineral flavour. Use the large crystals sparingly, as a little will go a long way.

Sprinkle your black salt on steamed white fish, or add a little to wedges of pineapple. We love using the striking crystals as a garnish on homemade pretzels, or even pairing with caramel and drizzling over gelato or sticky toffee puddings.

The company was founded by Erwann de Kerros, a Breton and seasoned traveller.
