Terre Exotique’s fine red salt, also known as alaea salt, is a naturally vibrant salt, traditionally used to make Hawaiian Kalua pork. The striking colour comes from volcanic clay which is then blended with sea salt. This salt is wonderful used as a rub for BBQ meats or as a seasoning for grilled fish.
Unlike other salts, this fine sea salt retains its potency throughout the cooking process, so use a little less than you might normally use for the same big flavour.

The company was founded by Erwann de Kerros, a Breton and seasoned traveller. After tasting pepper in the Penja plantation in Cameroon, Kerros yearned to try other specialist peppers and spices – and Terre Exotique was born.
